Geodesy comprises the study of the Earth's shape and gravity field, and provides the scientific basis of precise surveying, navigation, mapping, and studies of the physics and dynamics of the Earth. The Western Australian Centre for Geodesy is part of the Department of Spatial Sciences at Curtin University of Technology. Staff and students in the Centre are active in a diverse range of both pure and applied geodetic research of national and international significance. Our geodetic research programs use state-of-the-art equipment and software, and involve close collaborative links with other universities, industry and government, both in Australia and overseas.
