CONSULTING, RESEARCH CONTRACT AND EQUIPMENT HIRE SERVICESThe
Western Australian Centre for Geodesy conducts high-level consulting and
research contract work for the private sector and government
organisations. We have earned a reputation for delivering quality outcomes
in a timely and professional manner. We also hire our equipment to the
private and government sectors, provided that this does not interfere with
our own scheduled research activities.
At Curtin University, all consultancies, contracts and equipment hire
are administered by Curtin Consultancy
Services (contact Ms Sarena
Osman), and executed by members of the Centre.

Some Previous Examples of our Work
- AUSGeoid98 for the National Mapping Division of Geoscience
Australia
This is the new national geoid model of Australia, which is used
by all Australian GPS surveyors for the transformation of GPS heights
to the Australian Height Datum. AUSGeoid98 is available free-of-charge
from here.
- STATEFIX for the Western Australian Department of Land
Administration
This is the fundamental geodetic network of Western Australia,
which was used as the framework to introduce the Geocentric Datum of
Australia into this State. A technical description of this project is
given here.
- Standards for RTK GPS surveys for Main Roads Western Australia
These standards and best-practice procedures are used by all
surveyors that undertake contract work for Main Roads using real-time
kinematic GPS techniques.
- GPS trouble-shooting for BHP World Minerals
This consultancy resolved a GPS-navigation problem experienced
during dredging operations, which resulted in operational cost savings
of many hundreds of thousands of dollars.
