WG Correspondence

Our mission:

The mission of Working Group V/3 is to co-ordinate the scientific activities pertaining to terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) and other 3D imaging methods such as range cameras by organising conferences and workshops, providing datasets and attracting members from both within the photogrammetric community and from other disciplines.

Terms of Reference:

• Geometric and radiometric sensor modelling and calibration
• Automated and robust methods for point cloud registration
• Integration of terrestrial laser scanning and other sensors on static and kinematic platforms (in collaboration with WG V/5 and ICWG V/I)
• Feature extraction, 3D object modelling and scene classification and (in collaboration with WG III/2 and WG V/4)
• Processing methods for range cameras and other 3D imaging sensors, in particular range camera image sequences (in collaboration with WG V/5)

• Special Issue "Terrestrial Laser Scanning" in Remote Sensing (Guest Editor: A/Prof Derek Lichti)
• SPIE Optical Metrology, Munich, Germany (22nd - 26th May, 2011)
• On-line TLS bibliography is available now. It has been developing under an ISPRS Science Initiatives grant to construct an on-line terrestrial laser scanning bibliography at UofCalgary, Canada.
