Our mission:

The goal of Working Group V/3 is to co-ordinate the scientific activities pertaining to Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) by organising conferences and workshops, providing datasets and attracting members from both within the photogrammetric community and from other disciplines.

Recent News:

Working Group Terms of Reference:

  1. Automated algorithms for sensor orientation, including practical evaluation of registration algorithms.
  2. Scene classification and feature extraction (in collaboration with WG III/3 - Vosselman/Brenner).
  3. Integration with other data sources, particularly imagery for texture mapping, and other sensors for observing exterior orientation elements.
  4. Modelling of systematic error sources and development of calibration procedures.
  5. Modelling laser scanner measurement processes internal and external to the instrument.
  6. Practical application of terrestrial laser scanners for engineering, cultural heritage recording, forestry and other applications.
  7. Collaboration with FIG Task Force 6.1.5 'Terrestrial Laser Scanning for Deformation Monitoring'.
